Aberdeen: Average high/low temperatures are around 13 C (55 F)/7 C (45 F). Rainfall is quite low at about 74 cm, or less than 30 inches per year. This area receives very little sunlight but has one of the mildest climates on Vancouver Island and also gets some sunnier days throughout winter months as it sits near the coast so there tends to be more cloud cover. It's best time to visit Aberdeen would probably be mid February when you still get sunshine with warm weather but not too hot yet.
Buttle Lake Area: The average temperature ranges between a fairly cool July of about 13 degrees Celsius, down to an even cooler January where they rarely drop below zero degrees Fahrenheit all together! Buttle Lake itself does have beautiful surroundings for swimming and kayaking during summertime, however the water can become extremely cold, especially if you venture further out into the lake! If you happen to go here during December through April expect most beaches around this area to be covered by snow. However once spring arrives things start getting warmer and you will see lots of people enjoying sunny afternoons walking along the shoreline and playing on the beach. During May, June and early July the waters may still be chilly enough that many families won’t consider going into the lake to swim. Most folks just like to walk, hike, bike, picnic or play golf at these lakes nearby areas! In late August, September and October the temps begin to drop again bringing with them colder winds from the Pacific Ocean, which makes it necessary to bundle up before heading outside to spend time outdoors.
Swan Lake Area & Cowichan Valley : You could say Swan Lake was the place I lived! My condo was located right next door to this tranquil small pond full of swans and ducks, and only
